Kenn is busy working on production for the television series and is taking a break from his column. We will keep you posted on Kenn's return and potential guest hosts for this section soon, so be sure to check back!
Week of January 2nd
Ah! Another year to look forward to of flaying, chopping, slicing, dicing and otherwise maiming and mutilating cute, little, innocent woodland creatures. Kinda brings a tear to my eye. sniff. sniff. So, let's usher in 2006 and party like it's 1999!!!
I was just wondering, how in the world can u be able to keep ur sanity when ppl are askin u stupid questions about HTF?!?!?!?! i have enough of a hard time when ppl ask about my squirrel obsession! i admire ur patients with the pesky humanoids out there who ask dumb questions.
Sanity?!? Nobody ever said I was still sane! Well, thanks for the kind words. I just wish I had more time to spend replying to everyone and actually sit down and give a proper response to people. As it is now, the voices in my head pretty much dictate all that I say AND I'm standing up!!! Sigh.
heyke kenn!
in happy trail pt. 2 why does flippy have a deep "adult voice" when in keepin it reel he has a high squeaky voice?
why does mime sometimes have a heart nose and sometimes a ball nose?
why does toothy begin to cry in class act when giggles face is sliced but not when sniffles side is bit off? does he like her?
till one are all, me.
Lots of questions for the new year, me! Wait, if you're "me" then am I me too? I'm all confused.Anyway, let's sort them out and see if we can get to the bottom of this.
Flippy wasn't supposed to be in the Happy Trails episodes. We had always intended for Flippy's character to be Pop. It was boarded and recorded with Pop (proof is in the commentary section of the "Second Serving" DVD) but our Producers at the time thought that it was too weird to have Pop in that role so, the characters were switched at the very last minute. Since Aubrey Ankrum voices both Pop and Flippy we just kept the original recordings and nobody was the wiser. and we would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for you pesky kids!!!
Mime always has a heart nose, as does all the characters. You're probably referring to the "Out of Sight, Out of Mime" episode where Mime is dressed up, in a real lame way, as Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. Thus the red, "ball" nose. We wanted to show that Mime really didn't put a lot of effort in his costume and that he was just going out there with the bare minimum that he could get away with. What a slacker!
Well, it's very traumatic to have a good friend get your face sliced off when she's standing right beside you. Coupled with the fact that Toothy just witnessed his other friend, Nutty take a big bite out of Sniffles a couple of minutes ago. In the face of such trauma, I think it's ok to cry, regardless of how much you like somebody. Besides, I think its Cuddles and Giggles who have a thing going on anyway.
Dear Ken,
I just wanted to know if Nutty's eye is lazy or if it just is blind and doesn't work?. Also wanted to know why is he so addicted to candy?
From Coleman
Coleman, I ask you, who doesn't like candy? Nutty's just got one of those addictive personalities and his drug of choice just happens to be sweet, delicious candy. Glistening morsels of delectable sugar goodness. oh. er. I mean. um. ahem!
As for his eye, it is sort of a lazy/googly eye. Its definitely fully functional (like the Death Star in "Return of the Jedi") and he can totally see out of it.. Even though all he sees is candy anyway.
'Till all are one,
Kenn
